jet set

how amazing are these images from Tata Naka's SS13 collection!
i have only recently come across them but i think i'm in love with these designers. they're AW13/14 collection is looking pretty amazing also. the retro designs are right up my street and the playfullness of the cuts, colours and prints give the pieces a modern edge.
i would LOVE to use some of their work for future shoots.
head here to see more of their collections

updating my ebay...again!

will be adding more bits over the next few days too

is it just me...

trends. i can't be the only person bored of' 'trends' can i? i really dislike how fast they come and go. i walk down the high street of my local town and everyone is a clone, it's so un-inspiring.
don't get me wrong, i enjoy shopping on the high street, particularly for jeans and knitwear, i just don't buy into these trends that the majority of the time, are pretty awful (hey, lets wear moustaches on everything!) walking past shops that sell cheap, throw away fashions- all stock pretty much the exact same thing and i wonder, do people actually buy these? how much wear do they get out of them? do women actually prefer spending money on pieces that will make them blend into the crowd and look completely dated come the next year? i'm aware that certain trends keep coming back season after season with a different twist but c'mon, is it just me who is sick of seeing studs, printed sheer blouses, disco pants, crosses covering EVERYTHING and the dreaded aztec?
i'm not gonna bang on about investing in a basic capsule wardrobe either. i like having variety in my wardrobe. i have always been a lover of vintage, particularly the 1960's and more recently the 1990's (a contrast i know, but anything that reminds me of my childhood cheers me up!) i don't pretend i live in past eras, although if i could i would! when it comes to style i am inspired by music, film and tv. my moods vary. some days i feel like dressing a little sixties, some days more simplistic like nineties brit pop, some days just whatever's easy.
i'm a fashion design graduate. i don't necessarilly love all designers but i have always had a huge appreciation for quality- a garments construction, fresh ideas and something technically executed well fascinates me. as a stylist i don't feel i need to follow the crowd. if something i like is on trend thats cool but i always like a bit of individuality and personality in what i'm wearing too.

i guess i'm just trying to say wear what you love, what you enjoy and what makes you feel like you. not just the same thing that everybody else has, after all, who wants to be a sheep?

now, please hurry up summer! i'll leave you with some pictures that i like

i wish i had this dress so much

the best nineties hair accessory...

the scrunchie debate.
after ashish sent his models down the catwalk in simplistic scrunchies for spring/ summer 13, and vivienne westwood red label featured a selection, courtesy of my crazy scrunchie, the return of the trend has seen mixed feelings.
with cara delevingne, suki waterhouse and clara paget appearing in my crazy scrunchies new video, the trend is sure to boom by the time summer hits- especially so if you're a fellow lover of the 90's, cool kid hipster or errrr, a chav?

less is more i say. re-live your childhood and keep it simple in a loose ponytail  à la clarissa for all you girls with lovely long hair and have fun with the trend!

oh daisy

one of my most favourite things to do in spring and summer is to just find a field and sit in it. with friends or by myself, it's calming. takes me back to my childhood- living in a town surrounded by fields and parks, visiting my grandads house out in the middle of nowhere, wandering down the farm tracks and picking dandelions for my rabbit.
i know this marc jacobs ad campaign is nothing new but it popped up on tv earlier and is making me long for new seasons and nicer weather to cheer me up again.
currently going through a time of big change and growing up, reminiscing my childhood is where i always seem to end up...
